Old Business

Membership dues for 2019 are due at $30 per family with $510.000 collected to-date.  So far for 2019, the club has 17 paid family memberships and 3 approved non-paying memberships including 2 members who joined in the last third of 2018.  Tom Ferguson sent out  an updated membership roster in late January to all current club members.

Club polo shirts have been delivered to all members and payments for all shirts have been deposited.

Per Wendell Salas, Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup registration began at 12 am January 1st  and signups have been brisk with all the Autocross entries reserved in just 2 days.  Wendell also noted that Saleen Automotive will not participate as a sponsor of the Roundup this year and there is some question about Roush Performance too.  Otherwise, sponsorships are going well, and there should be a portable dynamometer available for use on at least one day of the Roundup for attendees to judge their engine’s performance.

New Business

Details for the upcoming K1 Karting Speed Racing outing were agreed upon with the club meeting Saturday, February 23rd at 2 pm at the K1 facility at 8034 Midway Drive in Littleton.  For $65 per driver, the club will be allowed 3 races over a 2-hour period assuming we have the required number of drivers.  A headcount of committed members taken at the meeting showed this should not be a problem. The following list represents some of the most likely events to be pursued by the club in the upcoming months.  Except for February and March, times and dates will be determined closer to the events based on club input and site availability.

February 23 – K-1 Speed Go Karting in Highlands Ranch, 2 pm
March 23 – Visit to the Shelby Collection Facility near Boulder
April – Erie, CO Spirit of Flight Center Air Museum
May – Rio Grande Mustang Club Show, Albuquerque, NM
June – Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, Steamboat Springs, CO
July – Rambler Ranch AMC Car Collection, Elizabeth, CO
September – St. Jude Car Show, Landmark Lincoln, Littleton, CO
October – FRMC Chili Feed
December – FRMC Holiday Party

In addition, former member Dan Ryal has issued an offer to host a club event sometime in the summer or fall and Mr. Snodgrass suggested possible visits to The Fleece Factory and a brewery tour to round out the activities.

The club will change its monthly meeting day from Saturday morning to Friday evening starting with the March 8th meeting.  That meeting will be held at 7 pm in McCoys Restaurant at 4855 Federal Blvd in Denver as we search for a more varied menu than offered by the new ownership at Scrumpy Jack’s.

Wayne Sheffield was a guest at the February meeting.  He is attempting to sell a 2007 Shelby GT500 Super Snake that he and his brother have owned since new.  This very fast and powerful car has only 186 original miles on it.  Wayne can be reached at 303-795-3623.

Treasurer's Report

The club had $1,623.33 in the checking account with Vectra Bank as of the meeting date.  Expenses incurred since the last club meeting included $50.00 to Snap Pages Pro Account for hosting the club website, $17.54 to Crown Trophy for a membership badge for Virginia Spencer ($12.00 reimbursed by the member at the February meeting), and  $277.70 to Larry Standiford for expenses incurred to attend the MCA Meeting in Dallas last year.

MCA Report

There was no news to report since the club’s January meeting per Mr. Standiford. Again, club members are encouraged to attend one of the three National Club Shows within driving distance of Colorado with the Topeka, Kansas show on July 18-20 being the closest.
