FRMC Meeting Minutes

Meeting Date and Location

The Saturday, December 4th meeting was called to order by President Larry Standiford at 11:41am during the 2021 FRMC Holiday Party held at The Club at Rolling Hills in Golden, a beautiful facility with spectacular views.  The meeting portion of the party was held in between the food serving and the annual white elephant gift exchange.  The Holiday Party was a great time for all and photos are available on the Club’s Facebook Page and Website.  With the warm December weather, we had a great turnout of Club Mustangs as the photos will show.

Old Business

The Club had 33 paid family memberships for 2021 and 1 approved non-paying membership through the meeting date.  Larry Standiford presented the 2021 289 Awards for Club event attendance at the Holiday Party.

New Business

Tom Ferguson had previously asked the members to be thinking about coordinating Club Drive/Event destinations for 2022.   Some ideas for events that were discussed at the Holiday Party include:
Tour of the Cars Remember When facility on Santa Fe
Tour of the Hammonds Candy factory in Denver
Tour of the Celestial Seasonings headquarters in Boulder
Visit Clive Cussler’s Auto Museum in Arvada
Visit the Rambler Ranch in Elizabeth
Visit the Shelby American Collection in Boulder
Visit the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley
Tour the USA Olympic Museum in Colorado Springs
Club Drives to various mountain locations including Pikes Peak or the Royal Gorge
Some of these locations are currently closed due to Covid and coordinators will need to ensure their availability next year.
Larry Standiford noted that O’Meara Ford (400 W 104th Ave in Northglenn), who used to host FRMC Meetings, has expressed an interest in doing so again in 2022.  In the past, the Club would use O’Meara’s meeting facilities and then dine across the street at Gunther Toody’s restaurant.  This could be a spot for our spring/summer meetings which we will convene on Friday’s at 7pm beginning in April.  Larry will discuss this further with O’Meara and make sure adequate and safe parking will be available for our Mustangs.  Thanks to Bonny Apple for pursuing this possibility with O’Meara.
The meeting portion of the Holiday Party was adjourned at 12:11pm.  The Club donated $375.00 to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of the Holiday Party activities.
