Old Business

The Club has 21 paid family memberships so far in 2023.  Tom Ferguson will be removing members who did not pay their dues for 2021 and 2022 from the Club Roster and mailing list in early 2023, so if you fall into this category and still wish to receive Club information, please send your 2023 payment to Tom.
As noted last month, the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup will be held over the Father’s Day week covering June 15-17 with the track day and autocross events conducted for 2 days at Pikes Peak International Raceway south of Colorado Springs followed by the Friday Night Social and Saturday Show ‘n Shine Car Show in Cripple Creek.  There will be two hotels providing discounted rates in Cripple Creek, but no official hotel for either Colorado Springs or Cripple Creek.  The event website with details and the registration portal is now up and running at www.rockymountainmustangroundup.org.

The second annual Colorado Mustang Stampede in Steamboat Springs as organized by FRMC members Michael and Melinda Bateman is also scheduled around the Father’s Day weekend covering June 15-17.  The event website for registering and viewing the event schedule is up at www.coloradomustangstampede.org.   Michael noted that Steamboat doesn’t have a large enough lot for an autocross, but a fun mountain drive is scheduled along with a downtown car show, a miniature golf tournament and an car-centric outdoor movie night.

New Business

The members were very complimentary about Romano’s as our new Saturday meeting spot as the private room was perfect for our group , the food was delicious, and the service next to perfect.  Interestingly, a local Corvette Club was meeting in an adjacent room to FRMC and there was some nice interaction between the groups.
Paul Revesz gave an update on his efforts to organize a charity car show later this year.  He is wanting to hold the show in the parking lot of the Littleton Arc Thrift Store at 1400 W Littleton Blvd (just across the street from Romano’s) to benefit the Arc organization.  Paul bounced the idea off some of the Corvette people while at Romano’s and they were very open to the idea of participating.
The FRMC January member event is scheduled for this coming Saturday, the 21st, at the Memory Lane Event Center in Highlands Ranch  south of C-470 off of Santa Fe.  Memory Lane Event Center is a 10,000 square foot mancave loaded with 50’s memorabilia and classic cars. The second level features a vintage pinball and arcade room, a Harley lounge with a billiard table, shuffleboard and lots of motorcycle memorabilia and an HO scale train town exhibit. The ground level has a complete 50’s diner with Juke Box music and a full ice cream counter. You can also walk through the 1960’s gas station and Chevy karaoke lounge.  A flyer for the Memory Lane event is attached to this email.  The financial seminar mentioned will be a short, low key educational/tips presentation during the BBQ lunch with no specific products being sold.  Tom Ferguson sent out an email for member RSVPs for planning the BBQ and so far, 17 members are planning to attend.  If you are coming, but didn’t respond to Tom yet, email him asap.
Larry Snodgrass noted that the 52nd Annual Tri-State Swap Meet is happening Saturday and Sunday, February 4th and 5th at the National Western Complex.  This is the region’s largest indoor automotive swap meet featuring thousands of auto related products bumpers to bumper and everything in between including tools, decals, memorabilia and more.  It is open to the public Saturday 8am to 5pm for $15.00 cash only and Sunday 8am to 2pm for $10.00 cash only.  There are discounts for military, seniors, and ladies are free Sunday and children 12 and under are always free.
