Old Business

The Club has 23 paid family memberships for 2020 and 1 approved non-paying membership through July 2020.  An updated Club Roster was emailed to the members shortly after the July Club meeting.
We have a large supply of club jacket patches for sale at $5.00 and magnetic name tags can be ordered at $12.00/tag.  We also now have FRMC window and windshield car stickers available for free.  Gary Spencer has an inventory of FRMC ball caps for members to purchase at $18 each.  Each hat carries the Club logo on the front with unique design work on the brims and side depending on the color.  Colors are black, red, and pink and are available by contacting Gary at Jilspen04@aol.com.
Wendell Salas noted that the SCCA and Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup organizers have scheduled a makeup autocross for July 26th at the Front Range Airport and Tom Ferguson sent out an email with details of the event and registration information on July 14th to the members.  The registration deadline is Wednesday, July 15th so act fast to participate!
Wendell also reported that RMMR organizers are continuing to pursue plans for a 2021 Roundup with Colorado Springs, Glenwood Springs, and Steamboat Springs (with some location revisions) all in the running for the event.  The key goal is to find a site that allows for more growth as the Roundup could easily exceed the roughly 600 car enrollment limit that currently exists.
We’re still hoping Indian Tree Golf Club will reopen their facility for our monthly Club meetings, but with the Covid-19 case count increasing across the country, restrictions look like they will be in place for the foreseeable future.  This means our meetings will continue to be outdoors and Chuck Warren has graciously agreed to keep hosting on his back deck which allows for social separation and has beautiful views of the metro area.

New Business

We added another new member, Christy Hopkins, in July.  She has been an automotive enthusiast for years and has raced/tracked her Miata as well as served as a flagger for SCCA, Formula One and IndyCar events.  Christy just gifted herself with a sweet 2017 Mustang GT for her most recent birthday and really enjoys the extra power that 5.0 Coyote engine has over her Miata.
The members discussed possible monthly driving activities for these Covid-19 times and decided to conduct a Club Drive to Georgetown and up Guanella Pass Road (recently paved) on August 8th.  Members would meet between 9:30 and 10 am at Jason’s Deli (204 Union Blvd in Lakewood; open 8 am) and then proceed on I-70 to the Georgetown Lake parking lot.  Once everyone was accounted for, the Drive would proceed up the Guanella Pass Road and then home via either Highway 285 or back on I-70 (driver’s choice).
For September, we’re planning on driving up Chicago Creek Road out of Idaho Springs to Squaw Pass Road to Echo Lake Park at the base of Mt. Evans.  This is an awe inspiring drive and you can continue on Squaw Pass all the way to Evergreen with lots of downhill switchbacks that your Mustang will love.  Larry Snodgrass is also going to check with Dan Ryhal to see if he wants to host this year’s FRMC Chili-Feed at his home in Pine in October.  For those who were at the Ryhal/Wagner residence last Fall, you know that there is lots of room for social distancing.
The following list represents upcoming club or other events of interest.  Times and dates will be determined closer to the events based on club input and site availability.

MCA Report

As of now, the third quarter Board of Directors meeting will be held face-to-face in Dallas after holding a second quarter conference call meeting in April.  The Regional Director’s Summit for 2020 has been cancelled as it would have conflicted with the October 8 - 11 fourth quarter Board of Directors Meeting in Tucson which already was scheduled to be held in conjunction with the Spirit of the West National Show.  The next Regional Directors Summit will be in October 2021.
