Old Business

The Club has 19 paid family memberships for 2020 and 1 approved non-paying membership with dues being accepted by the Treasurer as noted above.  An updated Club Roster will be emailed to the members prior to the April Club meeting.  A reminder: photos of your favorite Mustang can be included with your roster listing on the Club website if you email the photo to Tom Ferguson or Frank Herbst.

We have a large supply of club jacket patches for sale at $5.00 and magnetic name tags can be ordered at $12.00/tag.  We also now have FRMC window and windshield car stickers available for free.  Gary Spencer has an inventory of FRMC ball caps for members to purchase at $18 each.  Each hat carries the Club logo on the front with unique design work on the brims and side depending on the color.  Colors are black, red, and pink and are available by contacting Gary at Jilspen04@aol.com.

There was no Club activity in February due to postponement of the meeting until the 15th due to snow.

Regarding upcoming events, Wendell Salas noted that the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup planning activities may be adversely impacted by the coronavirus outbreak and Gary Spencer has not yet had any contact with Mike Nowlin of the Mustang Car Club of Colorado regarding planning for the jointly held May 16th car show planned at the Certifit Auto Body Parts facility at 10450 E. 51st Avenue.

New Business

The new spring/winter meeting location at Indian Tree Golf Club Restaurant will continue to be used until late fall of 2020 assuming its operations are not impacted long-term by the coronavirus outbreak.  The restaurant can offer a selection of buffet meals or a limited menu of 5 items depending on the Club’s advance instructions.  For the April meeting, the members chose to use the menu and Britt Linkevich and Tara Wells volunteered to provide homemade desserts.  An advance email will be sent out to determine the 5 preferred listings on the menu for April.

Tom Ferguson has ordered FRMC business cards to pass out to prospective members at car shows or other gatherings and they will be distributed at the April Club meeting.  Also, Chuck Warren has created a large table display featuring the FRMC logo to be used as a tool for soliciting new membership along with customizable signs that members can display with their cars at events to promote the Club.  The signs are available from Chuck.  We will try to include photos of the business card and customizable sign examples on the Club website.

Speaking of new members, Chuck Warren and Art Apple introduced Zak Sutliff and Tara Wells to the Club.  Zak owns a yellow ’94 Mustang GT with a 5.0 V8 and 5 speed transmission.  Zak and Tara purchased Club ball caps at the meeting and their contact information will be included in the Club Roster to be emailed out before the April meeting.

Tom Kay updated us on Colorado Collector Car Council activities and mentioned an interesting trend that he spotted regarding ’71 Boss 351 pricing.  After a rapid escalation in sale prices in the last few years due to the rarity of these last of the first generation Bosses, prices seem to be coming down significantly.  Tom has his eye on a particular car listed in California and we await his report on the car next month after he visits it.

Sadly, we lost one of our members in February as Virginia Spencer, Gary’s mother passed away at the age of 98.  Virginia quite often attended Club activities and she will be missed.  Please pass on your sympathy to Gary and Jillian if you haven’t already.

Due to all the cancellations and social distancing being encouraged by the authorities for the coronavirus outbreak, there will be no Club activity in March, however, members have discussed future 2020 Club activities including possible visits to the Shelby Collection, Rambler Ranch, Celestial Seasonings and another cookout at the Ryhal/Wagner residence in Pine.
