Old Business
As noted above, the Club attended a guided tour of the Vehicle Vault on March 5th with 11 members in attendance. Two more museum tours are included in the “Tri-Power Tour” and Gary Spencer and Larry Standiford have volunteered to coordinate the next two visits to the Rodz & Bodz Movie Car Museum and Forney Museum of Transportation, respectively.
The most recent developments on the June Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup per Wendell Salas are that the host hotel, the ALTA, has reduced their room rate to $99 since they won’t be providing food service beyond the lobby Sweet Tooth Café. Nevertheless, plans are being made for the Saturday Banquet to be catered by an outside vendor. Additional hotel accommodations are available nearby at the Double Tree and Antlers Hotel. All event activities as described on the event website are unchanged, and plans are proceeding to have a craft show and multiple food trucks at Saturday’s Show ‘n Shine.
There was additional discussion on the upcoming Rio Grande Mustang Club MCA regional show they are planning for Memorial Day weekend (May 28 & 29) in Albuquerque, New Mexico (see Tom Ferguson’s December 20th email on this). Many FRMC members have participated in this event in the past and it is highly recommended. The Club wants to schedule a caravan down south for this and would like to bring other local clubs such as the Mustang Car Club of Colorado into the drive. Club volunteers are needed to organize this.
Michael Bateman provided more information on the upcoming April 16th Early Mustang Club Scenic Mountain Drive including a route map and signup sheet. This is open to all Mustangs or other Fords and will start at Boss Auto Designs in Wheatridge at 11am and conclude at the El Rancho Brewing Company in Evergreen around 1:30pm. A lot of us signed up for the drive at the meeting, but if you missed the chance, contact Michael (MJBateman1@me.com).
Michael also provided a little more info on the private Steamboat Springs Car Show he is coordinating for August 19-20 with additional details and a signup sheet probably available at the next FRMC meeting in April.
