Old Business

The Club has 26 paid family memberships so far in 2023.  Tom Ferguson has removed members who did not pay their dues for 2022 and 2023 from the Club Roster and mailing list starting this month.  Fellow Mustang clubs and other car friends will stay on the mailing list.
As previously noted, the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup schedule has been modified due to conflicting events at Pikes Peak International Raceway.  The RMMR Track Day at PPIR will now be held on Wednesday, June 14th followed by the Autocross at PPIR on Thursday, June 15th.  Friday, the 16th will be saved for driving up to Cripple Creek for the Friday Night Social and Saturday will feature the Show ‘n Shine Car Show in Cripple Creek.  There will be two hotels providing discounted rates in Cripple Creek, but there will be no official hotel for either Colorado Springs or Cripple Creek.  The event website with details and the registration portal is up and running at www.rockymountainmustangroundup.org.  Also, the organizers got the Roundup listed in MCA’s Mustang Times magazine event calendar for the February issue.

The second annual Colorado Mustang Stampede in Steamboat Springs as organized by FRMC members Michael and Melinda Bateman is also scheduled around the Father’s Day weekend covering June 15-17.  The event website for registering and viewing the event schedule is up at www.coloradomustangstampede.org.   Michael noted that Steamboat doesn’t have a large enough lot for an autocross, but a fun mountain drive is scheduled Thursday, June 15th along with a Botanical Gardens Park Tour.  Friday will feature a miniature golf tournament and the Big House Burgers Cruise-In Dinner while Saturday is scheduled for the Car Show on Yampa Street and a car-centric outdoor movie night.

New Business

For April, the big event has to be the Early Mustang Club's National Mustang Day Cruise scheduled on Sunday, April 16th (weather permitting). Everyone will meet at Boss Auto Designs (2826 Eaton St, Wheatridge, CO) at 11am. The cruise will then proceed through the scenic mountains and end at Evergreen's El Rancho Brewing Company for lunch at roughly 1:30pm. The event is open to all Mustangs from 1964 1/2 to 2023 with no club affiliation required. Last year's cruise was a huge hit with some 50 ponies participating and this one should be just as great. If you plan on joining, please email our FRMC member, Michael Bateman at MJBateman1@me.com so he can provide the restaurant with an accurate headcount.
Another neat April idea is the annual Denver Auto Show scheduled from Wednesday, April 12th through Sunday, April 16th at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street, Denver. www.denverautoshow.com
Michael Thomas from the Denver Mustang Club has announced a Saturday, May 6th Mustang Cruise to Monument with lunch at Rosie’s Diner similar to the event he organized last year that drew 38 ponies with roughly 72 folks from 4 Mustang clubs and a handful of non-affiliated owners.  The plan is to meet in Highlands Ranch around noon with a 1:00pm departure and parade into Rosie’s at 1:45.  Anyone with a Mustang is welcome and Michael has posted an announcement on FRMC’s Facebook page where you can respond to him if you are interested in attending.  Tom Ferguson will also remind everyone in April and early May so we can get an estimated count for Rosie’s.
Paul Revesz announced that the Perpetual Learning organization that he is hoping to organize a charity auto show for has received their 501C tax exemption certification from the IRS.  Paul is currently searching for a location to host the show.  Any ideas would be appreciated.
FRMC’s next meeting will be Saturday, April 15th at Romano’s Italian Restaurant, 11am.  The later date is due to a schedule conflict for the restaurant.

MCA Report

Dates for the recently added Topeka, Kansas MCA National Show have been finalized as October 6-8.  That gives us two national shows within a day’s driving distance of Denver as the Mustang Enchantment show in Albuquerque, New Mexico is scheduled for June 9-11.  At least 5 members have confirmed their plans to attend the Albuquerque show amidst what is shaping up to be a very busy June.
