Old Business
The Club has 24 paid family memberships so far for 2022.
The Club will defer scheduling the last Tri-Power Tour of local car collections at the Forney Museum of Transportation until later this summer or fall as the schedule for car events of interest is filling up in June and July. There is no immediate time limit for when we can use the tickets we previously purchased.
Wendell Salas reported that everything is set for the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup in Colorado Springs June 14-18 and the organizers are now working with the Double Tree Hotel to host the 2023 event.
There was additional discussion on the upcoming Rio Grande Mustang Club MCA regional show for Memorial Day weekend (May 28 & 29) in Albuquerque, New Mexico (see Tom Ferguson’s December 20th email on this or the event flyer on our website in the Bullitt-N Board section). The Club will have at least 5 member cars participating and it would be great if other local Mustang clubs could add to groups attending from our area. Chuck Warren made a point of promoting the event at last month’s Early Mustang Club Scenic Mountain Cruise lunch stop and has organized (with Larry Standiford) a caravan drive starting 9am Saturday morning (the 28th) at Rosie’s Diner off I-25 in Monument.
Speaking of the April 16th (National Mustang Day) Early Mustang Club Scenic Mountain Drive, it was a rousing success with over 60 cars participating. Starting at Boss Auto Designs in Wheatridge at 11am and concluding at the El Rancho Brewing Company in Evergreen, a lot of FRMC members took part in the drive and lunch and the spirit of camaraderie across the various clubs was great. FRMC member Michael Bateman was a prime organizer for this event and his better half, Melinda, reminded us that Michael will be showing his just completed (hopefully) 1969 Mach 1 restoration at the MCA National this weekend in Suisun City, California.
Another successful cross-club drive occurred on May 7th sponsored by the Denver Mustang Club. Over 30 Mustangs participated in this event which left the Highlands Ranch Denny’s around 1:15 and proceeded down highways 85, 67 and 105 to Rosie’s Diner in Monument. A mid-afternoon lunch at Rosie’s (which stayed open especially for the participants) was enjoyed by all and everyone agreed these cross-club events are a great way to bring out more Mustangs of all vintages. Pictures from both events are posted on the FRMC Facebook page and website for those who couldn’t make the drives. Michael Thomas from the DMC is already planning a followup driving event which we will publicize once we get details.

New Business
The Taste of Philly and Max Taps Car Show held in conjunction with the Highlands Ranch Hot Rodders’ Club and benefitting the American Legion has been postponed to September 11th from May 22nd due to the rough weather Denver experienced this weekend. This is always a big event (200+ cars) and has been a great recruiting tool for new FRMC members.
June 5th is the Colorado Concours d’Elegance at Arapahoe Community College. This is always a great opportunity to scope out exotic domestic and foreign cars along with many vintage autos including Shelby and other special Mustangs. I have it on good authority that the Shelby Collection up in Boulder is bringing down a Ken Miles-themed new Ford GT to show along with the GT500 raffle car that will be given away on Labor Day weekend.
Art Apple reminded us of a potential Club activity for Friday, June 24th offered by the Rocky Mountain Thunderbird Club. They are inviting other car clubs to meet them at the Lookin Good Restaurant at 66 Sheridan Blvd to drive up to the Clive Cussler Auto Museum in Arvada. More info on this can be provided by Art. The Thunderbird Club may also be planning drives to Yellowstone and Sturgis for later this summer.
Chuck Warren has invited all Club members to his annual Independence Day Cookout at his house on Green Mountain. This year it will be on Sunday, July 3rd starting at 6pm. The view of the area fireworks is spectacular from Chuck’s deck and should not be missed.
Also, our sister MCA Club from up north, the Mustang Car Club of Colorado, is planning to hold their second Wings and Wheels Showcase at Centennial Airport on July 24th and will be hosting Stangtoberfest on September 25th. President Mike Nowlin has promised to get us flyers on these events as soon as they are available.
The 46th Annual Horsefeathers All Ford Car Show will be held August 6th from 10am to 2pm at the Westrail Tap & Grill at 195 South Union Blvd in Lakewood. A flyer with registration info is posted on the Club’s website Bullitt-N Board.
The Fairmont Cemetery Car Show is scheduled for August 14th from 9am to 1pm. This has been a popular event with FRMC members for several years and more information on how to register your car for free is available by searching the web for the Fairmont Cemetery Car Show. If anyone has a good flyer for this event, send it to Tom Ferguson for posting on the Club’s Bullitt-N Board.
Also, now posted on the website Bullitt-N Board is the flyer for the Steamboat Springs Mustang Stampede Show that Michael Bateman is coordinating for August 19-20 . This will be a great event for those who miss the drive to Steamboat and the town’s amenities which were a big draw at prior Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundups. The show is limited to 200 cars so get your registration in early.
Finally, Tom Ferguson brought up a possible winter Club activity with the Memory Lane Event Center in Highlands Ranch. This 10,000 square foot mancave is loaded with memorabilia and classic cars along with vintage pinball and arcade games, a Harley lounge, HO scale train exhibit, 50’s diner with ice cream, and 60’s gas station and karaoke lounge. FRMC could book a visit to the facility off Santa Fe and one mile south of C-470 when the winter months limit our outdoor activity and the members agreed this sounded good for later this year.
The next FRMC Monthly Club Meeting will be held at 7pm on Friday, June 10th at Landmark Lincoln , 5000 S Broadway in Englewood.

Treasurer's Report
The Club had $1,063.00 in the checking account with Vectra Bank as of the meeting date. The only April expense was to replenish the Club promotion cards that Office Max prints for us to hand out to prospective members. The $30.00 FRMC dues for 2022 can be sent to Tom Ferguson at 525 Fox Hunt Circle, Highlands Ranch 80126. Please make the dues checks out to FRMC rather than Tom.
MCA Report
President Standiford noted he is hoping to attend the MCA Board of Directors meeting scheduled for July 9th in Dallas as his health is improving. He also put in a plug for members getting certified as show judges although there are limited scheduled MCA Nationals within driving distance of FRMC in the near future.
