Old Business

The Club has 28 paid family memberships so far in 2023.
The Mustang Cruise to Rosie’s Diner in Monument on May 6th was well attended with 29 ponies and 61 folks showing up for the drive and late lunch from 5 different clubs plus 4 cars with no club affiliation.  FRMC had 11 members take part and SAAC Colorado had 7 members plus two vintage GT350s attend.  Pictures from the event are posted on the Front Range Mustang Club Facebook page.
Wendell Salas reported on final preparations for the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup on June 14th through the 17th.  Additional volunteers for the attendee check-in, track day and autocross at PPIR on Wednesday and Thursday would be appreciated as well as vote counters for the Show and Shine Awards Saturday in Cripple Creek.   Michael and Melinda Bateman reported that arrangements for the June 15th through 17th Colorado Mustang Stampede in Steamboat Springs are all in place.  With the MCA National and these two shows all in June, there are plenty of opportunities to get your Mustang some exercise next month.

New Business

John and Paul Revesz are still working on leading a weekday Club Cruise into the mountains via Deer Creek Canyon later this summer with Monday or Wednesday looking like the most likely options.  Last summer’s similar cruise was a great time and ended up at a nice Italian restaurant in Conifer.   Gary Spencer is researching a possible Club outing to help with the cleanup and polish on a 1923 Ford Delivery Truck later this summer.
Chuck Warren’s annual 4th of July Party will be deferred to a date to be determined as Chuck does not believe his deck enhancement construction will be completed in time for the 4th.  Stay tuned for updates.
The possibility of increasing the Club Dues for 2024 to somewhere in the range of $40 or $50 was discussed as cost increases for insurance, the Holiday Party subsidy, and the FRMC website have bitten into the Club’s cash reserves in the last two years.  The current $30 cost for Club Dues has been in place as long as anyone could remember and there was broad support for an increase among the members in attendance.

With next month being extremely busy with events, it was decided not to hold a regular June member meeting.  Therefore, the next FRMC meeting will be Saturday, July 8th at Romano’s Italian Restaurant, 11am.  FRMC is sticking to the Saturday meeting schedule as opposed to switching to Friday nights because Romano’s is such a great place to gather and eat, and with the meetings concluding by 1pm at the latest, most of the day is left for other activities.

MCA Report

The Mustang Enchantment MCA National Show in Albuquerque on June 9th through the 11th is fast approaching and President Larry has this message for any members or friends planning on attending:
Hi Gang,
For those of you going to the Rio Grande Show in Albuquerque- and would like to drive down with others, I am going down on Thursday, the 8th of June.
Plan on meeting at Rosie's Diner, June 8th at 9 am. Hoping to leave by 9:30 am, at the latest, so if you want breakfast- which is quite good- get there earlier.
The first planned stop is just before Raton Pass, this is about 160 miles. I am sure a few more stops will happen before reaching Albuquerque, including a lunch stop.
I understand that Art and Chuck are also going on Thursday, let us know who else is driving down on Thursday.
If you are going down on Friday, I suggest the same meeting times at Rosie's Diner. Let me know what day you are going, and contact me if you need more information.
See you all soon,
    Larry Standiford (bosstda@cs.com or 303-660-5326)
