Old Business

The Club has 35 paid family memberships so far in 2023.  New members added to the roster in the last 30 days include Todd Griffin of Aurora.  Todd belongs to the MCA and owns a 2007 4.6 liter GT coupe in titanium.  We hope to see you at one of the upcoming cruises soon, Todd.
FRMC was well represented at the July 29th Rosie’s Diner Cruise to Monument and the August 5th Horsefeathers All Ford Car Show.  Pictures for both events are posted to the FRMC website and Facebook page, FRMC Mustangs.  Tom Rupprecht and Art Apple had ponies that garnered awards at Horsefeathers and John McNurney’s 427 Cobra added a bit of special Shelby muscle to the show.  Concurrent with our August 12th club meeting, Mike Thomas led a contingent of multi-club Mustangers from Denver and Colorado Springs on a cruise to the Bergen Park/Evergreen area for lunch at the Parkside Café.  Pictures are on the FRMC Facebook page.
The July 15th volunteer club outing to clean the 1923 Rio Grande Fuel delivery truck was well supported by our members and pictures on our website and Facebook page show how the truck was transformed from a dusty mess to a show quality vehicle.  The Rio Grande building materials company was thrilled with the result and contributed $500 to FRMC’s treasury for our efforts.

New Business

Tom Ferguson is taking orders for club polo shirts as described in his 7/31 email to members.  It’s not too late to place an order if you haven’t let Tom know you’re interested, but get your order to him asap.

The Revesz brothers, Paul and John, will be leading a club cruise on Wednesday, August 23rd through Deer Creek Canyon up into the altitude above Conifer with a lunch stop at JJ Madwell’s for Italian food.  The cruise will start at 9am at Paul’s house at 7242 S Acoma Street in Littleton 80120 and should take about 2 hours before arriving at the restaurant.  Last year’s similar drive was a great time with spectacular scenery.  Please rsvp Paul at longboatsand@comcast.net for planning purposes if you plan on participating.  His cell # is 303-514-4134 if you need directions or run late.

September will be really busy with the Shelby Collection in Boulder having their Annual Car Show & Party on September 2nd. If you've not attended before, it is an incredible time with the finest collection in one place of original 1960's Cobras, Ford GT's and Shelby Mustangs plus the opportunity to show your car outside the museum.  Tickets which include food, drink, museum entrance and show parking can be purchased through www.shelbyamericancollection.org.  Two words of advice…arrive early.
We’re less than a month away from John and Cam McNurney's Annual Cars & Guitars Party at their home in Lakewood on Saturday, September 9th. This is always a highlight of the fall season and is a top event for FRMC and metro area car enthusiasts each year.  Those of us who have attended in the past, always try to ensure we are at the next one. Seeing John's personal collection of cars (including 2 Shelby Cobras, a Ford GT, an XKE, and various Mustangs and Porsches) is worth it alone, but there are so many other sweet rides including our own to display on the street. A flyer for the event is attached to this email along with details in Upcoming Events below.  Please be sure to rsvp John for planning purposes if you plan on attending.
The Colorado Concours d'Elegance was rained out in June and has been rescheduled for September 10th at Arapahoe Community College (details below in Upcoming Events).
Later in September on the 16th, Mike Thomas has planned another multi-club cruise that sounds like a great time. The plan is to leave from the Highlands Ranch Denny's near the corner of Highlands Ranch Parkway and Lucent Blvd at 8:15am and take back roads (CO105) and I25 to Colorado Springs to meet fellow Colorado Springs' Mustangers around 9:15. Then cruise up Ute Pass (Highway 24) to the town of Green Mountain Falls between Manitou Springs and Woodland Park arriving at The Pantry Restaurant for breakfast at 10am. If times change I’ll update everyone, but be sure to let Mike know if you’re interested at m_thomas1@me.com.
Finally, Vice-President Gary Spencer is looking at planning a Fall Colors Cruise for later this fall and save December 9th for the Annual FRMC Holiday Party with details to come later.
With so much going on in September and FRMC’s Annual Chili Feed at the home of Dan Ryhal and Cathy Wagner in Pine scheduled for our normal meeting date of October 14th, we won’t be holding another member club meeting at Romano’s until November 11th.
