FRMC Meeting Minutes
Meeting Date and Location
The Thursday, August 13th FRMC Member Meeting was held at Romano’s Italian Restaurant in Littleton starting at 6:38pm. Attendance was good with 27 members present on a rainy evening. Romano’s suggested Tom Ferguson attempt to collect RSVPs for future meetings so the restaurant can be sure to dedicate proper staffing to our dining needs, and the members responded well with early RSVPs numbering 20.

Old Business
So far, we have 44 club memberships for 2026. We finished last year with 49 memberships.
As mentioned above, FRMC fulfilled Dick Thompson’s wishes by providing at least four Mustangs for display at the July 25th CCCC Rocky Mountain Car Show and Swap Meet. Two days before, four FRMC members (Keith Johnson, Tom Ferguson, Dean Gianarkis, and Don Wuebker) ran their cars at our Open Lapping Day at High Plains Raceway near Byers. We were joined by two other Mustangs, a BMW Z4, a Lotus Elise and one Corvette for a total of just nine cars on track. Everyone enjoyed having basically the whole track to themselves. A few photos and videos are on the FRMC Mustangs Facebook page thanks to Don and Joyce Wuebker.
Other events in July and August included the July 25th Englewood Car Cruise on South Broadway that per Terry Frank featured some 500 vehicles running up and down that major artery for a special night, the July 26th Heritage High School Supply Drive & Car Show, and the always popular Horsefeathers All Ford Car Show on August 1st. The FRMC members who attended Horsefeathers reported 173 vehicles were displayed at the new location at The Shops at Northfield on an very hot day.

The list directly below includes events not yet scheduled but shows possible club outings to discuss and schedule for 2026 and 2027. As always, your officers encourage FRMC members to step-up and do the research to get any of these on our schedule.
Visit to the Western Museum of Mining & Industry in Colorado Springs
Tour the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley
Tour the Cussler Museum of Classic Cars in Arvada (August 20th)
Visit the Rambler Ranch in Elizabeth (possibly in the winter)
Schedule some Fall Cruises for our Mustangs (see below)
With input from club members, we’ve picked Thursday, August 20th for the FRMC visit to the Cussler Museum of Classic Cars. The extensive collection includes over 100 significant automobiles ranging from 1906 to 1965 and is located at 14959 W 69th Avenue in Arvada. If we have ten or more FRMC members attend, admission is $12/person. Otherwise, it is $15 adults, $12 seniors. Museum hours are 10am to 4:30pm and FRMC attendees are planning to be there for the 10am opening.
The 23rd Annual Tri-Lakes Cruisers Benefit Car Show will be held on Sunday, August 30th in Monument with Stephen Wilson reporting that there are only 20 spaces left to enter for this big show. Details are below in Events of Interest along with a list of other car shows spanning the first three weekends in September. Of special note are the 20th Annual Sturgis Mustang Rally (the Weathers, Miller brothers and Keith Johnson are planning on attending), the 30th Annual Shelby American Collection Car Show & Party in Boulder and the Early Ford V8 Club All Ford Day Car Show. In addition, Tom Ferguson passed out flyers for three mid-September car shows, the Avenue Church Auto Show, the Stang Auto Tech BBQ and Car Show, and the End of Summer Classic Car Show at the Billy Birch Pub and Yard. This last event should be of special note for FRMC members to attend because the club may partner with the Pub for this show in 2027. Details on these events are below.
Our Annual FRMC Chili Fest is scheduled for September 26th at the home of Dan and Cathy Ryhal near beautiful Pine, Colorado. At the July meeting, we voted to hold the Chili Fest on September 19th, but the Ryhal’s will be out of town that weekend, so we moved it to the only open date in September. We will be coordinating attendance and food contributions in early September.
As we move into the Fall driving season, Mike Thomas and John and Paul Revesz are researching possible car cruises for the club. Mike’s would most likely occur on a weekend, while the Revesz brothers would arrange something for a weekday.
The next FRMC meeting will be held Thursday, September 10th at Romano’s Italian Restaurant at 6:30pm.

MCA Report
The 2026 MCA National Show schedule is detailed below in the Upcoming Events of Interest section of these minutes. The final National Show within driving distance of Denver, the July Mustangs on the Mother Road in Tulsa was attended by Ron and Ann Fox and Larry and Karen Standiford. Gold and Siver Awards were presented to both couples, respectively, for their Mustangs and pictures have been posted to the FRMC Mustangs Facebook page.
CCCC REPORT
The August meeting of the Collector Car Council of Colorado was at the Forney Museum with Keith Johnson attending for FRMC. Keith reported that the CCCC’s lobbyist with the state legislature, Lee Boyle, is on board to represent the enthusiast community for another year. Also, Horseless Carriage license plates are available from the state for vehicles predating 1977. The July 25th CCCC Rocky Mountain Car Show and Swap Meet at the Broomfield Airport was a success raising funds and featuring numerous classic and contemporary cars. It appeared like there were more Mustangs than any other marque and FRMC and the Early Mustang Club of Colorado were well represented. The Mustangs of Dean Gianarkis, Gary Krasche, Tom Ferguson, and Candy Thompson were all spotted at the show. Dick Thompson has notified the CCCC that he will be stepping down from the show coordinator role in 2027 so if anyone is interested in that role, let Dick or Keith know.
PRESIDENT'S REPORT
The latest on Wendell Salas is that he will be meeting with his surgeon on August 19th to discuss if or when his hip surgery will be scheduled.
