Old Business

We have 45 club memberships for 2026.   We finished last year with 49 memberships.  Our newest members are Keith Mann and Margaret Gramling.  Keith has years of experience working on and restoring Mustangs and has a shop in Deer Trail.  His most recent Mustang is a red with white stripes 2007 Shelby GT500 and he found out about FRMC through chance meetings with Tom Ferguson at a service station and Terry Frank at the Arapahoe High School Charity Car Show.  While Keith lives in Deer Trail, his partner Margaret lives within walking distance of Romano’s!
Our hoped for September 24th Fall Cruise coordinated by the Revesz brothers was cancelled due to impending weather, but a few folks didn’t get the announcement and showed up for what ended up being a nice outing.  Unfortunate how so many of our driving events in 2026 were impacted by negative weather forecasts, especially when you consider how dry the year has been.  We got lucky finally with great weather for the Annual Chili Fest in Pine on September 26th.  It was a great time with 29 members hosted by Dan Ryhal, but we missed his spouse Cathy who was out of town.  There are lots of pictures of our group and cars from this event on the FRMC Mustangs Facebook page.  Other events with FRMC representation in attendance recently included the Early Ford V-8 All Ford Car Show, the Classic Car Show at the Billy Birch Pub and Yard, the Highlands Ranch Hot Rodders Cool Colors of Autumn Show (255 cars!), and the Arapahoe High School Charity Car Show.  Way to show up guys!

New Business

The list directly below includes events not yet scheduled but shows possible club outings to discuss and schedule for 2026 and 2027.  As always, your officers encourage FRMC members to step-up and do the research to get any of these on our schedule so with very few enthusiast events in the winter, let’s look at doing some of these.

Visit to the Western Museum of Mining & Industry in Colorado Springs
Tour the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley
Visit the Rambler Ranch in Elizabeth (possibly in the winter)
Sad news that The Vehicle Vault in Parker closed in early October.  Word is the building has been sold to a church and the cars will be returned to the owners or auctioned off.  With this and the Gateway closing, two favorite Cars & Coffee locations are gone.
With the Annual Holiday Party coming on December 5th, it’s time to think about filling the officer positions for next year.  Anyone wanting to be considered for the President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary job should inform Tom Ferguson or Larry Standiford so we can discuss at the party.  Also, Tom will be meeting with the event coordinator for The Club at Rolling Hills on October 20th to set up the menu and room requirements.  Tom will email invitations to the members shortly after so you can RSVP and pre-pay for the party and 2027 dues if you wish.

The next FRMC meeting will be held Saturday, November 14th at Romano’s Italian Restaurant at 11:00am.  It may have been mentioned that the meeting would start at 11:30am, but it will be at 11:00am.
The following list represents Upcoming Club or other Events of Interest
November 14 - FRMC Member Meeting, 11:00am, Romano’s Italian Restaurant, 5666 Windermere St, Littleton, CO
December 5 - FRMC Holiday Party, 10am-2pm, The Club at Rolling Hills, 15707 W 26th Ave, Golden, CO 80401

Standing Events:  It’s been covered before, but The Latest Scoop magazine is under new ownership and some nice upgrades include articles with photos, and car events across Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico and Oklahoma sorted into state specific pages which makes The Scoop more user friendly.  Free digital subscriptions are available by registering at www.https://tinyurl.com/Email-Newsletter-Signup.  This subscription will get you an email newsletter with a link to The Latest Scoop issue plus a separate biweekly listing of Colorado car events and the digital SHIFT Colorado magazine every 3 months.  How can anyone beat a free deal?  I highly recommend getting subscribed because the info in The Latest Scoop will be much more up to date than what I have been listing in the past under Standing Events.

If you have an event you’d like posted to the above list or the Club website Bullett-n Board, bring an informational flyer to an upcoming Club meeting.  Updates on future Club Meetings and activities of interest will be posted on the  www.frontrangemustangclub.org website calendar.

Treasurer's Report

The Club had $1,924.33 in the Vectra Bank checking account as of the meeting date.  Tom Ferguson will begin collecting 2027 FRMC dues ($50/family) concurrent with RSVPs for the annual Holiday Party in late October.   Checks should be made out to FRMC and mailed to Tom at 525 Fox Hunt Circle, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126.  Newer members who pay membership dues for 2026 after September 1st are exempt from 2027 dues.  Tom is holding the name tags for members  Jim and Susan Johnston,  Daryl Borsheim and Patty Ferguson.  Please come to a future event to get your tags, guys!

MCA Report

The latest issue of Mustang Times noted Ron Fox and Larry Standiford as Gold and Silver winners, respectively, at the Mustangs on the Mother Road National MCA Show in Tulsa in late July.  By all accounts the late August MCA 50th Anniversary Celebration held in conjunction with the Shelby American Automobile Club (which was celebrating a 61st anniversary) at Road Atlanta was a big success, but FRMC did not have any members in attendance.
CCCC Report:
Lots of news on the Collector Car Council of Colorado front as Mary Sue Powell and Dick Thompson both attended the October meeting at the Forney Museum.  Mary Sue reported that Samantha Baker will assume the event coordinator role for the next year’s CCCC Rocky Mountain Car Show and Swap Meet which is great news as the show pays most of the cost of the enthusiast lobbyist CCCC maintains with the state legislature.  Term limits could impact how many legislators remain supporters of our hobby and the lobbyist will be diligently identifying who deserves campaign fund support from our community.  Dick Thompson will be attending a meeting next week on forming LLCs (limited liability corporations) to facilitate title registering enthusiast cars with the state of Montana as it is much more friendly cost and emission-wise than states like Colorado and California.
Speaking of California, the latest insanity sure to spread, if the car community can’t stop it, is a regulation beginning in 2029 restricting tire retailers to selling replacement tires meeting a maximum rolling resistance of 9.1 newtons per kilonewton.  The reasoning is lower rolling resistance equates to greater fuel economy.  This is not good as performance tires like most of us use tend to have a resistance in the 10-12 range.  Bottom line is Michelin Pilot Sport, Pirelli P Zeros and the like will be outlawed for sale in California in three years if Jay Leno and others can’t stop it.  Here’s more craziness from our government overlords: Minnesota lawmakers want to limit when collector cars can be driven by restricting them to club activities, tours, parades, and exhibitions and only allowing them on the road during Saturdays and Sundays during daylight hours.   You know with the way our state is heading, that someone in the legislature will eventually think these developments are a good idea, so vote for your hobby folks!!
There is some good news.  Forney is currently featuring an exhibit of Mini cars and will add a Corvette exhibit in January.
President's Report
Wendell Salas is still scheduled for hip surgery on November 10th.  We will all be pulling for you to be healthy enough for the surgery, Wendell, and hope to see you at December’s Holiday Party.
