Old Business
The Club has 45 paid family memberships so far in 2025 which is the highest count since Tom has been associated with FRMC. We finished 2024 at 44 family memberships.
With the return of the driving season, your officers are looking for ideas for driving/show events to keep the Club active. Some suggestions discussed so far include:
The 37th Annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup completed last month and according to Gary Spencer and Wendell Salas over 250 cars participated with some 300 registered. All the FRMC members who attended gave positive feedback on the event. Michael Kish, a former FRMC member who moved to Oklahoma, won a door prize protection package that included a clear bra, hood-mirror caps and fender tips installation performed by Alpine Buick GMC in Littleton. Since Michael couldn’t use it, he passed the prize to Jim Yank who offered it up to the members at our meeting. The package went to Kathy Dee via a random number generator operated by Wendell. Congrats, Kathy! Hope it works for one of your vehicles.
The Annual All Ford Picnic & Car Show was held June 22nd at Golden’s Arapahoe Park and FRMC was well represented with 12 member vehicles shown. The show featured over a hundred Fords and Mercurys of all types.

New Business
Last month, Tom Ferguson suggested a possible route that might appeal to our northern based members for a Club Cruise and he asked Ron and Ann Fox to check out the drive. They reported back at our July meeting that the cruise route is beautiful and, while it will take the better part of a day, the members voted to give it a run on Saturday, July 19th. Tom sent out an email to all the members on July 11th describing the route and asking for feedback by Monday, the 14th on who is definitely going to participate. Based on the participant count, we will finalize the logistics for starting time/location and stopping points and lunch. Expect this to be communicated by Tom and Ron early the week of the 14th.
There was some recent concern from members about the parking locations for Romano’s as the overflow lot doesn’t allow easy monitoring of our parked cars or a good spot for members to see all the cars brought to the meetings. Wendell assured everyone that during our summer evening member meetings, the lot across from Romano’s can be used for parking cars which goes a long way to addressing these concerns. However, when we switch to our Saturday morning meetings in the winter, this may not be an option.
Keith Johnson attended the July Collector Car Council of Colorado (CCCC) meeting as FRMC’s representative and reported back to us that the state legislature is likely to call a special session this year to raise more money as holes keep appearing in the Colorado budget. Tom Ferguson called everyone’s attention to the Classified section of the Club website. It has some recent additions that may appeal to members including cars, trailers, and parts.
July has additional events of interest to point out, besides the Club Cruise on the 19th, including the All American car show in Loveland, the El Paso County Fair car show, the Englewood Cruise Night, and the Rosie’s Diner car show in Monument. Details on these are shown below in the Events of Interest section along with an August list that is jam packed and includes the Horsefeathers show, the CCCC’s Rocky Mountain Car Show and Swap Meet, the Chenango show in Centennial (flyer attached to this email) the Tri-Lakes Cruisers Benefit Show, the Sturgis Rally, and the Shelby American Collection car show and party. It’s also time to start thinking about another half-trackday at High Plains Raceway sometime in September and the Annual Chili Feed in Pine at the mountain home of Dan Ryhal and Cathy Wagner which we have officially scheduled for October 11th.
Paul Revesz reported to the members that the non-profit, Perpetual Learning Communities, he has been working to found over the last two years to serve individuals over 18 with autism and intellectual disabilities, now has a physical location established in Littleton and the generosity of FRMC members has been a big factor in achieving this milestone. Paul expressed his gratitude to everyone and asked that Tom include a flyer for the non-profit with a QR Code for donations with the July minutes mailing.
Finally, it was suggested that the Club invest in a portable microphone for use in future meetings as the size of our recent turnouts has made it difficult to hear. Tom will look into this, but has concerns that this might interfere with the atmosphere in Romano’s main dining room, so this should be discussed with ownership.
The next FRMC meeting will be Thursday, August 14th at 7pm at Romano’s Italian Restaurant in Littleton at 5666 S. Windermere Street.
