Old Business
The Club has 45 paid family memberships so far in 2025 which is the highest count since I’ve been associated with FRMC. We finished 2024 at 44 family memberships.
With the return of the driving season, your officers are looking for ideas for driving/show events to keep the Club active. Some suggestions discussed so far include:
The June 8th 42nd Annual Colorado Concours d’Elegance at Araphoe Community College with the Mustang as the featured marque was a great success with our members showing 24 cars and over 60 Mustangs, Shelbys, Ford GTs, and Cobras on display from FRMC, the Early Mustang Club of Colorado, the Denver Mustang Club, and the Shelby American Collection. Special thanks to Jillian Spencer for coordinating the parking of the Mustangs in near chronological order.
The 37th Annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup completed over the last weekend and per Wendell Salas over 300 cars were pre-registered. We should get an update on the event at the next FRMC Club Meeting, but hopefully the mountain air in Cripple Creek resulted in cooler temps than in Denver.
With the return of the driving season, your officers are looking for ideas for driving/show events to keep the Club active. Some suggestions discussed so far include:
- A road trip to Colorado Springs to view the National Museum of World War II Aviation
- Visit the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley
- Tour the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden
- Visit the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver
- Tour Cars Remember When in Englewood with their always changing inventory
- Cruise the Lariat Loop in Jefferson County
- Rambler Ranch Tour

New Business
The Club welcomed new members Rick and Heidi Mori at the June Member Meeting. Rick and Heidi live in Castle Rock and own four Mustangs including a red ’67 Shelby GT350 (displayed at the Concours), a yellow ’70 Cobra Jet Mach 1, a white ’05 GT Convertible, and an alloy ’07 Shelby Super Snake. Some of us have known Rick for quite a while from his membership in the SAAC Colorado Club. Welcome, Rick and Heidi!
June is still going strong with a great event, the All Ford & Mercury Car Show in Golden’s Arapahoe Park, being held this coming Sunday, June 22nd from 8am to 2pm for a cash donation of $20 (with t-shirt included) or $10 (no shirt). A flyer for this show is attached to the minutes email.
July thru September usually means good cruising weather (especially with an air conditioned car) and Tom Ferguson found a possible route that would be more convenient than normal for our northside members. He asked Ron and Ann Fox to check out the route for a possible cruise later this summer, so stay tuned for a report. Ron also touched base with the owner of the Rambler Ranch Museum to see about an outing there for FRMC. The museum is open on weekends from 10am to 2pm for a $20 per person donation. Several members have been to the Rambler Ranch in the past and speak highly of it as a possible fall or winter club outing.
Also, on the driving front, Wendell Salas mentioned that Finish Line Automotive & Performance (denverhorsepower.com) opens their facility for reasonably priced chassis dyno testing to see what kind of horsepower/torque your pony makes which could be fun if you’ve modified your motor. Tom Ferguson and Keith Johnson can also fairly easily schedule another weekday track day at High Plains Raceway if you want to turn your Mustang loose for a few hours. Let us know if you’re interested!
It’s time to start thinking about FRMC’s Annual Chili Feed which we have held in Pine at the mountain home of Dan Ryhal and Cathy Wagner for the last three or four years. Larry Snodgrass checked with Dan after our June member meeting and Dan suggested Saturday, October 11th for the event. If that sounds good, we can lock down that date at our July meeting.
The next FRMC meeting will be Thursday, July 10th at 7pm at Romano’s Italian Restaurant in Littleton at 5666 S. Windermere Street.

Treasurer's Report
Per Treasurer, Tom Ferguson, the Club had $2,115.22 in the Vectra Bank checking account as of the meeting date with a recent infusion of funds to pay for our t-shirt order. FRMC dues for 2025 are $50.00 and can be sent to Tom at 525 Fox Hunt Circle, Highlands Ranch 80126. Please make the dues checks out to FRMC rather than Tom. Tom is holding the name tags for members Todd Griffin, Jim and Susan Johnston, Candy Thompson, Bill and Joan Anderson. Please come to a future event to get your tags, guys!
MCA Report
Our sister MCA club, the Rio Grande Mustang Club held their regional Mustang Enchantment show in Albuquerque on May 16-17th. FRMC members attending included Larry and Karen Standiford, Larry Snodgrass, Jim and Nancy Yank and Dave Skinner. The trips down and back were not without challenges as Dave’s Mustang II encountered a deer on the drive down which resulted in a new front end installation before the Concours show on June 8th and the Standiford’s Mustang overheated on the return trip and required a 250 mile tow back to Castle Rock. Thanks for representing us guys and sorry for your tribulations.
