Old Business

The Club has 44 paid family memberships so far for 2024.
At the October Member Meeting, the Club decided to join other MCA clubs in contributing to funds providing hurricane relief for residents of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.  As a result, our members stepped up to provide $420 to the Samaritan’s Purse for further distribution.
As of November 20th, rsvp’s for the December 7th FRMC Holiday Party at The Club at Rolling Hills stand at 42 people.  Please be sure and send your checks to Tom before the party as he would prefer to not be handling money during the event.  Rsvp’s close after December 2nd.
Also, we usually try to pick out a worthy cause for holiday donations at the party and this year we have two avenues members can choose from.  For the last couple of years, Paul Revesz has been working on forming a 501-C to provide support to what is a sadly underrepresented population segment to which his daughter belongs….adolescents and adults with developmental issues.  Paul will be providing Tom with information on his organization before the party so you can learn more.  The other cause was presented to the Club last April by John McNurney and is Colorado State University’s Ram Racing Engineering Program which is a student-run team that designs, builds, tests, and races formula style race cars to compete against other university programs across the globe.  The 2025 Formula SAE  competition will be at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, MI May 14-17.  Information on the program can be found at:
www.engr.colostate.edu/organizations/ram-racing-fsae/
FRMC is also still looking for a member to contact Gateway Classic Cars to see if they have any remaining spots to be the featured car club at their monthly Caffeine and Chrome meets in 2025.  Gateway will donate up to $200 ($10/car) for featured clubs.

New Business

With the driving season starting to wind down, your officers are looking for ideas for driving/show events to keep the Club active during the colder months.  Some suggestions discussed so far include:
  • A road trip to Colorado Springs to view the National Museum of World War II Aviation
  • Visit the Colorado Model Railroad Museum in Greeley
  • Tour the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden
  • Visit the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver
  • Tour Cars Remember When in Englewood with their always changing inventory

In addition, Mike Thomas and Larry Standiford will be researching possible overnight drive locations for 2025 and other suggestions are welcome.  Contact one of the officers with your ideas as FRMC is always looking for more volunteers and input.
Wendell Salas reported that plans for the 2025 Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup are well underway with 4 Mustang clubs participating as sponsors and registration to open in early January.  The event will center around Cripple Creek and include autocross (at PPIR), a scenic mountain tour drive, and the popular show ‘n shine.
Keith Johnson requested that the next FRMC shirt program consist of t-shirts as opposed to the polo shirts we’ve been ordering over the last several years.  Our current shirt vendor does t-shirts so we can easily accommodate this change.  There was quite a lot of support for this, so if anyone has some design ideas, please communicate them to Tom Ferguson.  Our last t-shirts featured Front Range Mustang Club in script on the front left of the shirt and a large image of our club logo on the back.

The next FRMC meeting will be Saturday, January 11th at 11am at Romano’s Italian Restaurant in Littleton at 5666 S. Windermere Street.  We have started our Winter schedule of meetings on Saturday mornings since the car show season is over.

MCA Report

The FRMC Board of Directors positions are open to anyone who wishes to run for the President, Vice President, or Treasurer/Secretary roles.  If you are interested, please let Tom Ferguson know before our final 2024 member meeting at the Club at Rolling Hills Holiday Party on December 7th.  If multiple candidates come forward, we will hold elections for these positions.  Otherwise, the officers for 2025 will be Wendell Salas, President, Gary Spencer, Vice President, and Tom Ferguson, Treasurer/Secretary.  Larry Standiford will step down from the President position he has held for several years at the Holiday Party, but will continue to represent FRMC as an MCA Regional Director.  However, he will not be attending the upcoming 2025 MCA Directors’ Summit in Kissimmee, Florida due to time and travel constraints.
